Join the Harvard Club of Central Florida as we participate in Harvard Global Day of Service, a worldwide initiative that brings Harvard alumni together to strengthen communities through meaningful volunteer work.
 

This year, HCCF will partner with Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County for a hands-on build day supporting Habitat’s mission of creating strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
 

Spend the morning working alongside fellow alumni and community volunteers as we roll up our sleeves and make a tangible difference in Central Florida. Whether you are a longtime volunteer or new to service opportunities, this is a wonderful way to connect with fellow alumni while giving back to our community.

Important Information for Registered Volunteers

Please review the following details before arriving at the Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County build site:

Before You Arrive

  • All volunteers must complete a required 10-minute Safeguarding Video prior to arriving on site.
  • All volunteers must review and agree to the required waivers, including the Adult/Minor Waiver (if applicable) and Volunteer Code of Conduct.
  • The build site location and additional instructions will be provided in your registration confirmation email.

Arrival

  • Site registration opens at 8:00 AM.
  • Parking details will be provided.

What to Wear

  • Dress appropriately for outdoor weather conditions.
  • Wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty—build tasks may include caulking, landscaping, siding, painting, and other hands-on activities.
  • Modest shorts and tank tops are permitted.
  • Head coverage is encouraged for sun protection.

Required Footwear

  • Closed-toe, closed-heel, flat, hard-soled shoes are required.
  • Construction boots and sneakers are acceptable.
  • Dress shoes, heels, clogs, and Crocs are not permitted.

What to Bring

  • A refillable water bottle is highly encouraged. Water will be available on site.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and sanitized before use, although volunteers may bring their own if preferred.

Age Requirements

  • Volunteers ages 16–18 are welcome but may have task restrictions and are not permitted to use power tools.
  • Volunteers under age 18 must have a legal guardian complete required consent forms prior to arrival.
