About Dr. German
Dr. German earned her M.D. from Harvard Medical School and completed internal medicine and rheumatology training at Duke University. She has held key leadership roles at Vanderbilt University and Saint Thomas Hospital, and she served as Associate Dean at the University of Florida College of Medicine.
Driving innovation in Central Florida
In 2006, Dr. German was recruited to UCF to found the College of Medicine. Under her leadership:
- UCF built more than 375,000 square feet of medical school facilities at Lake Nona
- The college achieved LCME accreditation and national recognition for innovation
- UCF Lake Nona Hospital and Cancer Center opened adjacent to the medical school
- A robust graduate medical education program was launched to address physician shortages
- UCF Health now provides multispecialty care to patients across Orlando
