This National Book Award winner is a personal, darkly humorous novel that explores pop culture’s roles and stereotypes. It examines roles both in acting and in real life, touching on family and parenthood with a uniquely American perspective on immigration and assimilation across generations.

Charles Yu has written four books and been a screenwriter for shows on FX, AMC, and HBO. He received the National Book Foundation’s “5 Under 35 Award,” and two Writers Guild of America awards.
