h-symposium

You’re invited to a special symposium

Why do people make new music? How are musicians adapting to the realities of social distancing and remote collaboration in the era of COVID-19? And how are musical communities coming together to advocate for social justice during this time?

We are pleased to invite you and fellow Harvard alumni, parents, and friends to a virtual lecture exploring these questions and more. The next of our Faculty of Arts and Sciences Symposia, this is an opportunity to hear from Claire Chase, Professor of the Practice in the Department of Music. Professor Chase will share how students in her Fall 2020 first-year seminar “Community Building and Social Justice Through Music” learned to tell their stories through sound, ultimately orchestrating a virtual soundwalk of Harvard’s campus.
