Bring water or water bottles. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes.

We need as many volunteers as we can get, so spread the word to your friends and family!
Register yourself and your guests at the Yale Day of Service website so they can keep track of how many people to expect.  https://yaledayofservice.org/find-service-site/orlando-mustard-seed-central-florida-furniture-and-clothing-bank

Here’s more information about the volunteer opportunities:

Mattress Recycling:
Through our mattress recycling program, we have saved 21,428 mattresses from ending up in the landfill in 2015 alone.  As 90% of every mattress is recyclable, we have saved over 1.5 million cubic feet of landfill space to date.  Volunteers in this area break down the mattresses and prepare the pieces for recycling.

Warehouse:
We have a 20,000 square foot warehouse where we organize, store, and sort through donations. In this role, volunteers here might sort and organize donations into boxes.

Seed Boutique:
We have a clothing program and clothing store that helps provide clothes to those in need and their families.  As volunteers, one might use their retail skills to straighten up the store, hang clothes, and price tag clothing.

Linen Room:
We have a linen room that houses all of our linens, to include towels, sheets, blankets, etc. In this role, volunteers here might sort and organize donations onto the appropriate shelves.

Dish Room:
We have a dish room that houses all of our glassware, to include plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, appliances, silverware, bakeware, etc. In this role, volunteers here might sort and organize donations onto individual dish packs.

Loft Clean up:
Volunteers here will be needed to clean up and organize our storage loft.  They may be needed to pull boxes of toys to prepare for families in need during the holiday season.

Cleaning:
In this role, volunteers here might vacuum, dust, mop, clean windows, sanitize door handles, clean door jams, clean the bathroom, etc.

Outdoor Clean up:
Volunteers in this role here might clean up trash outside, organize the bone yard piles, clean the exterior windows, etc.

Administrative Duties:
We have many roles in our front office that we could use volunteers to help.  Filing, cleaning, organizing, painting, are just a few of these items we would need help with here.
