Good Gossip: Amplifying Trust in Business

Gossip gets a bad rap. When you think "gossip" you usually think mean and malicious, right? It's not true. Research shows mean and malicious gossip is only about 5-7% of gossip. When done right, good gossip is the smartest and most powerful way to inspire trust, devotion and loyalty to grow in business. In this fun and interactive presentation, Six-Time EMMY® winner and gossip expert Dr. Shawne Duperon, shows you innovative gossip strategies that will deepen trust, while also amplifying your business message.

Dr. Shawne Duperon

About Dr. Shawne Duperon

Dr. Shawne Duperon (dew-PEAR-un, rhymes with Sharon) is a good gossip researcher. From London, to Athens, to Munich, to across North America, she travels the globe, educating corporations, entrepreneurs, universities and government agencies on what inspires people to passionately share innovative ideas and solutions that open hearts and minds.

Her case study is Project: Forgive, a non-profit leadership foundation that reaches millions in social media.

You have seen this Six-Time Emmy® winner featured in major media including, CNN, ABC, “Inc. Magazine,” and “USA Today” to name a few.

This PhD in gossip (yes, gossip!) used gossip theory to make Project: Forgive’s five-minute video go viral, garnering an endorsement from Archbishop Desmond Tutu and a Nobel Peace Prize Nomination for the work she’s doing on global forgiveness.

What is a Leadership Breakfast?

The Leadership Breakfast is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for Harvard alums, All-Ivy colleagues, and their guests to meet face-to-face with the most sought after leaders in business and the community. You can count on the speaker’s comments to be candid, insightful and not likely to be heard in public elsewhere. You can share your views with them during the pre-meeting buffet breakfast, question and answer period and post-meeting informal discussion.

Similar Harvard Club-sponsored leadership breakfast meetings exist around the globe.  These events are great for networking, for learning, and for enhancing visibility of the Harvard brand within the community.
